Per T.C.A. 39-16-502. False reports

(a) It is unlawful for any person to:

(1) Initiate a report or statement to a law enforcement officer concerning an offense or incident within the officer's concern knowing that:

(A) The offense or incident reported did not occur; (B) The person has no information relating to the offense or incident reported; or (C) The information relating to the offense reported is false

Please read below carefully to determine if our online reporting system is right for you. If it is, the system will allow you to submit a report immediately for review.

Did this incident occur outside the City of Dyersburg?

Was either your home or vehicle broken into?
Yes No
Were you physically assaulted?
Yes No
Is this crime currently in progress?
Yes No

If you answered NO to all the questions above, you are ready to file your report online.

After Filing Online

Upon completion of our Online Reporting System process you will see:

"Your report has been submitted" showing that your report is complete.
You will be given a temporary case number.
Once the report has been reviewed by our officers, an approved permanent report number will be emailed to you

Review time will vary based on case load and the availability of Officers. It usually takes between 2-3 business days. Upon review, you may be contacted if further investigation of your case is needed. If a report is rejected during our online review process, you will receive an email detailing the reason for the rejection. Once approved, your report will become a public record.
